Glen Pantaleon

Image
Glen in black shirt waiting for  lunch to be served  at Gloria Maris with very good friends,  Jay and Abe Donning our batch color Glen Pantaleon is an avid golfer, so we all know that by now. He does tournaments and is in fact here in the Philippines,   for R&R,  if only for a brief while,  and  to do just that. On December 4, 2010, the day of the alumni homecoming, he hosted lunch for class and batchmates,  initiating somehow  a sparkling aperitif of  the excitement expected  for  later that night.. True enough,  it was truly a memorable homecoming.. Glen  had generous gleeful smiles for every batch mate he met;  toasting with the rest of the guys,  bear hugging, exuding feelings of genuine warmth ..  enveloped in   those killer  debonair looks..  On with  the homecoming dinner,  Glen was so thoughtful and gracious  to gift every batch70 table ...

Ayda Zerrudo Zoleta

Image
Another new find from Batch70 is Ayda. I am sure she is classmate to one or more of us.. she is now widowed and enjoys some of her time travelling.. we are not sure where she is based but  the photos below were taken in the United States sometime this year. We hope we could add some more details about Ayda but for now, let's just get her on board :-D Welcome Ayda.

Isabelita Viray

Image
Isabelita is a CPA and works with a multinational company. Apparently, she's a very  busy executive because it took her awhile before she was able to join the Dec 11, 2010 Batch Christmas Party. But glad she made the effort. Thanks and Welcome batchmate! Isabelita with batchmates Lanie, Dorri and Krish

Cecille Guillermo

Image
Cecille Guillermo is now based in Edmonton , Alberta, Canada and works as a financial analyst. She is both a batchmate as well as a classmate during my elementary grades. She told me that she is happy she has this opportunity to re-connect with high school class and batchmates, not to mention the elation of also hooking-up with elementary classmates. With eldest sister in Michigan

Krish Acu

Image
Krish Acu First time Krish came on board was during the Grand Alumni Homecoming held last December 4, 2010. He was introduced to almost everyone and we'd like to believe he did had fun. It's not clear who connected to Krish first but more important is,  he now joins us. Despite the short notice, Krish  found the time to squeeze in our batch Christmas party in his holiday schedule, again to be with all of us at the batch christmas party last December 11, 2010. WELCOME Krish! That's all the info we have right now about Krish. Krish with the rest of Batch70 during our Christmas Party

Batchmate Dulce has based in Canada since the early 80's and works for Service Canada.

Dr. Essie Antonio

Image
She is now Dr. Essie Antonio Diaz. A pulmonologist with a clinic at the Kidney Center, among others. We thank her, that she was able to find the time to attend our Grand Reunion last December 4, 2010, despite her very busy schedule. And thanks to Goody Sabasa Esguerra and Dr Salome Senga Lo, we are finally re-connected with the good doctor. Doc Essie at the elem classmates meet-up for Gie Guevara Acelar Unfortunately, she cannot find the time for social networking;  and intimated she doesn't even do email. Wow tough.. these doctors lead a hectic kind of life. From what I gathered Doc Essie has three children; two are in college and I believe one is in high school. She is married to a man of the law, just not sure if he is a judge.. It is my hope that with this recent reconnection,  we will be able to get her to attend some of our batch meet-ups and other activities resulting from batch plans and goals. Here with classmate Chuchi Estanislao at the 2010 RMCHSAAI...

Danilo Palima

Image
Our new found batchmate is  Danilo Palima who I searched through an fb post by Zeny Abdon . An ensuing fb message and a request for friend add  was sent by yours truly. Luckily he was online and presto. Thanks so much to batchmate Danilo for accepting. This is a guess but perhaps his nickname is Dan or Danny? We will soon find out. His fb gives out his employment info but I am not sure if he would like to share that with the public since our blog is published publicly. I was thinking if you are on fb, and becomes a friend,  most likely you will have access to his info.. so there.. we'll see if he shares more info about himself; how he's been from high school .. to now. I understand that he is also classmate to Baby Berona aka Veronica de Guzman. Cheers to Danny Palima!

Juanito Macaspac

Image
Lito as he is called now, is a basketball referee and lives in Marikina City. He joined us during the grand alumni homecoming last December 4, 2010.  Late  that homecoming night, he met  Dr Salome Lo; and what small world it is,  because it seems that some of  Lito's relatives are friends with Doc Lo's cousins. Leftmost, Lito  joining Batch70 officers and balikbayan Glen Pantaleon Lito with Wife

Reuel Aguila - RMCHSAAI Distinguished Alumni Awardee 2010

Image
La...

Joe Apostol

Image
Sharing with everyone, our newest find -- Joe Apostol. He sent me an email. (I took the liberty in deleting some information for privacy reasons. You know how it is about sharing information on the web). Joe with Wife To begin,  Joe says he is "so excited that I will be meeting with some of my former classmates and batchmates, and can't wait for the year 2012 to come, it brings back some fun memories. I was scanning some of the photos in RMCHS batch site, and to my amazement I could only recall 1 or 2 faces, not to mention their names, but it didn't matter, it brought smile to my face as I was scanning them". Further, he intimates that he "might remember" batch and classmates, "more when I see them in person". Joe continues by saying, "I don't think many batchmates remember me either from the high school days for I kept a low profile then".  Joe often  goes to "California for a vacation", and  says he "could...

A  Gie-full  Afternoon to Treasure by Chelit Bataclan November 28th, 2010 was a red-letter day for Batch’70 of RMCHS, because the group  organized a get- together for a batchmate from the US of A.  This person wanted to see as many batchmates as possible.  For  most of us, it would be the very first time to see her again after 40 (!) years.  A couple of  batchmates have met each other before this fateful day, but still this event can give one apprehension, excitement,  curiosity and gladness. Gie = Fun and Laughter The mere fact that we will all be meeting this balikbayan friend  gave us  a sense of joyful anticipation.  And speaking for myself,  I  was filled with all kinds of mixed emotions.  Should I attend this get -together or not? I was contemplating on not going because I had a previous commitment to fulfill.  It was a good thing my elders allowed me to go because they said I shouldn’t ...

Batch'70: A Recollection

The Batch of 1970 It was a troubled period in an era of transformation. Seniors of RMCHS 1970 were moving into a situation where decisions affecting their future were being made by leaders they had not fully known, whose orientations they have not fully grasped, and whose intentions they were not fully aware of. At an age just above childhood, these seniors were compelled to become adults by the conditions they were faced with; and the choices they made in their sincere desire for change brought them in different directions. Forty years hence, they congregate to celebrate their youth – the one element in their lives that was abruptly ended by the turbulent decade that followed the end of their High School days. Having lived with their choices and their respective paths towards the change they sought to contribute, they now seek fellowship and acceptance of one another. For despite their different and/or opposite routes, they know that each of them remains connected to an endearing...
BATCH ’70  RISING: on its 40th Year Anniversary ! By: Lorna P. Callanta This year is Batch ‘70’s 40th year anniversary.  Mabuhay batchmates! Had it  not for our Ramon Magsaysay (Cubao) High School Alumni Association (RMCHAAI) Inc., we would not have realized it, especially when I came in to the RMCHSAAI Board during last year’s election.   Unlike other senior batches, we are still in our formative stage, but for sure,we are  rising  in progress of fulfilling our batch organization goals. I remember very well, we were only two sometimes three the most from our batch who regularly attended the annual RMCHSAAI grand alumni homecoming since it started in l999.  Admittedly, I had not attempted communicating with my highs chool schoolmates, more so when I heard that most of them settled in the United States and other countries. But in last year’s RMCHAAI grand alumni homecoming, about eight of us made it: Remedios Gabriel, Lorie Lunas, Veronica Ber...

Boots Evelyn Garlitos Doria

Image
A warm welcome to a new found classmate.  In the US where she'd  been based since 1978,  Evelyn is now known as Boots.   She is  happy to "finally find and connect  to high schoolmates online". saying further,  "thanks to Merci Paredes", (the current RMCHSAAI President), she was able to hook up once more with Batch '70. Here's what she said in her email. "Yey, yes this is a start of my Cl '70 RMCHS high school connection and hope yours and the rest too .  I will share w/ Rizalina nee Rabanera Escobar who I have contact about this.  She's in San Diego.  I used to have contact with Lorna Tagorda when she was in Hawaii, not sure if she returned to Manila. A pic taken I think during recent balikbayan trip to Pinas I do have contact with the Vers (Gen. Rick and wife Eva Orlino).  I always tried to get in touch w/ Bebs when I visit.  Most of the time, February time frame to coincide with the ...

Johnson Villar

Image
He is classmate to Manuel Cataluna, Lex Parayno, Sam Movido and more. There's not really much that can be gathered from Johnson's fb profile except that he went to Mapua Institute of Technology for college. Two of his fb profile pics show that it looks like he's had a working stint abroad and the third photo with his wife, I assume. To give you an idea here are those pictures. I hope Johnson reads this post and updates us. And if he is currently based in the Philippines, he can still join our Grand Alumni Homecoming on December 4, 2010 at the RMCHS Campus. Looks like a picture  with wife Doesn't that look like a working photo taken abroad?

Cora Palomar

Image
Cora remains positive about life. She is happy taking care of her dogs and her numerous cats. Taking them in from the streets;  feeding, bathing and nurturing her pets like they were her own children. With an ever kind heart, Cora is always eager to help, volunteering  her services to whoever needs them. Happy to assist. In fact,  she volunteered to come early to the Grand Alumni Homecoming  to assist whichever way she can. Cora enjoying a laugh with batchmates Most fitting to say,  Thanks Cora for your gracious personality!

Eufrocina Cabanban

Image
She didn't change much. She was startled when I approached her during our Nov 13 Batch Meeting. "Eufrocina!", I said. "We were classmates in first year or second year!" And she just smiled that impish smile. The truth is, it was easy to recognize her, remaining almost the same as the last time I saw her 40 years or so ago. Welcome to the batch. (4th from the left)  Eufrocina seems to be having a great time with the group

Linda Ruiz

Image
Linda brandish effervescence. She wakes everyone from stupor with her echoing voice that invites attention. She evokes a caring attitude and can be very protective of her friends. She is assiduous to a fault, grinding tasks that needs to be done, effortlessly - mark of a truly dependable friend. That is our Linda. Sharing laughter and wacky poses with batchmates capturing Linda in a relaxed pose

Rosie Pineda

Image
Rosie seems to be the quiet type, motherly, caring and kind. Her high school chums, Jay Espina from California, Chelit, Cecille and Meds (all based in the Philippines, had a blast, enjoying each other's company once more; reminiscing the good old days and looking forward to fun and laughter during the forthcoming grand alumni homecoming.

Consuelo 'Chelit' Bataclan

Image
Chelit is by nature a happy person. Something you will easily recognize when you meet her. With an open smiling face, her classmates say she hasn't aged a bit. Blame it on her pleasant disposition - surely attracting nothing but good vibes. Chelit looking and feeling happy with high school friends Standing: Here with Jay Espina, fresh from the USA with  Ma'm Cecille Cabuhat and sitting from left:  Meds Gabriel and Rosie Bernardo

Nori Silva

Image
From photos in her fb profile, we can easily conclude that Nori loves to travel and she says explicitly so. But that's all that can be gathered from her profile. The pics here were also grabbed from the same fb profile. I wish that when she sees this seemingly empty post, she'd email me more info about how it's been since 1970. One of her many travels pictures Indicates that this is Nori with a  former co-worker from BSP?

Ana Julieta Damasco

Image
Ana with daughters and friend (rightmost) Ana with family Another one bites the dust of our batch'70 call is Ana Julieta Damasco. She is based in Ontario, Canada, has four children. That's all  the info I can get for now. I hope she can update us with other shareable info of life in Canada.

Mona Evangeline Fabian

Image
Vangie, as I knew her became a nurse and served in the AFP Nurse Corps for awhile. Today, she heads her own manpower service company and travels from time to time between the Philippines and the Middle East. We had the chance to talk in November, last year. I was trying to invite her to attend one of our batch meetings. I also extended the invitation to our grand alumni homecoming in Dec 4, 2010. I am sure she wanted to but unfortunately, previous commitments prevented her from going. As there will be many more batch meet-up opportunities, we shall be looking forward to meeting you again, batchmate, Mona.

Dorri Santos

Image
How can we forget? She with that lovable Shitz shu (did i get that right?) last Oct 23, 2010. Dorri, I heard was able to make it during the initial meet up/s of the core group led by Goody Esguerra. Her attendance last Oct 23 is proof that  we might just get her interested again to  attend regularly. We are all hoping that membership will steadily increase along with  meeting attendance. Thanks Dorri. Cheers!

Laura Castanares

Image
Again, there's not much information I know about Laura except that she first attended batch'70 meeting on Oct 23, 2010. Rest assured that as soon as we find more about her, we will post it here. Welcome Laura!
