NEWSBITS: Nestor Rico Donates to RMCHS Batch 1970 Fund

Image
Receiving the donation were Vixi Abat and other Batch Officers On April 14, 2011, Saturday,  during his party blowout for 1970 batchmates, Nestor Rico hands his cash donation to Batch President Vixi Abat.  Along with this gift, he also shouldered the production cost of the RMCHS 1970 Graduation Issue of the Apprentice. The objective was to  dispose "memorabilia" copies to batchmates,  in exchange for a cash contribution of Php250 or US$5 (more or less). This move had been a planned pet project of Nestor Rico as early as March, 2010. According to Rico,  this was his way of helping strengthen the "treasure chest" of the batch, in preparation for the Grand Batch Reunion scheduled in February 4, 2012. Please watch out for the full story of this news bit as cited and relived for us  by Chelit Bataclan. That tribute is coming soon! Thank You Nestor Rico for your generosity!

Blasting Back To the Past with Winna as captured by Chelit Bataclan

Image
Winsome Winna As the song goes, “Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you if you’re young at heart; and so is Time travel, can just be a fragment of one’s imagination but if one’s mind is wild enough, anything is possible. The  stew in the pot is a-boiling.  The time machine is all polished, fully powered, brewing and all ready to take off. On April 4th, 2011, eleven students, after weeks of ingenious planning, positioned themselves to take an imaginary and jolly ride in a time capsule and go back to the past, a million minutes ago, to Louisiana and New Orleans Streets, the location of their school; where all the happy and gratifying memories started. Gateway Mall in Cubao has been the strategic point to meet so the plan was to carpool on Lanie Reodica’s van.  I imagined it to be the Delorean, the car from the movie “Back to the Future” trilogy.  There, Cecille Cabuhat, Pinkee Serrano, Abe Espiritu, Rudy Balleras (from batch’ 69) and myself comfortably rode.  Manny Palafo

Winna Villanueva's Lunch Bienvenida in Pics

This was Monday April 4, 2011. A lunch bienvenida for our dear Winna Ilusorio Villanueva from the U.S. Lunch was scheduled at the Glorietta (Cabalen's) in Makati.  It  was supposed to be a long awaited meet-up for me and Edwina and sure, with the rest of our batchmates. But 'apos'tolic duty called me (I had to care for our Aya my grand daughter because her parents had to urgently attend to something-something :-).. And yes, they all had a great time, had a lot of fun as the pics swear by it and I missed it :-( But where are the photos? Slide the pic portal has since closed shop.
