MINUTES  of  MEETING

October 23, 2010

1. Call To Order  by Chairman Vixi Abat

 1.1.  Welcome Message from Chair Vixi to the new attendees.

1.2.  Goody Sabasa moved for the approval of the previous meeting’s Minutes, and seconded by Vixi Abat.

2. New Business

2.1.  Vixi Abat presented the  new organizational structure being adopted by Batch’70.  As adopted, from  Executive positions, the  Board of Directors with the  Chairman of the Board at the helm; the  Vice Chairman, the  Board Secretary and the  thirteen  (13) Directors are collectively  charged with   running the organization. 

2.2.  Greg Dominguez suggested that since the membership is still small, the proposed four committees be lumped into two.  

 2.3.  Ver Laping suggested that batch activities be concentrated on membership recruitment. There is need to disseminate information in order to find more batchmates  and it is exigent to plan out the activities to  support  the recruitment objectives.

2.4.  Goody Esguerra mentioned that the batch blog,  http://rmchs1970.blogspot.com  must be  utilized continuously   to find and reach out to  more batch mates.  Virgilio Laping likewise,  mentioned the importance of communication as a tool to support recruitment.

2.5.  Vixi Abat with the agreement of the body declared that the organization will have  two standing committees instead of four. And these are the  Finance and  Ways & Means Committee and the Membership and Communications  Committee.

2.6.  Vixi Abat and  Virgilio Laping together with Goody Esguerra repeatedly emphasized that batch activities must be focused on membership recruitment. Virgilio Laping pointed out that Committees can have their own separate meetings to plan and strategize response to this call.   

2.7.  As Chairman of the  Membership Committee,   Virgilio Laping  started appointing his members; naming Ada T Bernal as Vice-Chair,  with Linda Ruiz, Manny Palafox, Malou Domingo and Chuchi Estanislao as members.

3. Treasurer’s Report

3.1.  Baby Berona presented her Report.

3.2.  Vixi Abat informed those present that Batch’70 made a commitment to contribute Php5,000.00 to the RMCHSAAI Grand Alumni Homecoming on Dec 04, 2010. 

3.3.  Vixi Abat  also mentioned that Ruby T-shirts (project initiated by Goody Esguerra, Baby Berona, et al) were still selling at Php250.00 as part of  Batch’70  fund raising efforts.  An additional Php250.00 assessment are continuously being collected  from batch members for 2012 Batch’70 Reunion.

3.4.  Goody Esguerra  reiterated  that the Php250.00  individual assessment will represent initial contribution for the 2012 Batch’70 Grand Reunion.

3.5.  Virgilio Laping commented that sometimes, some  members may be hard-up with money contributions.

1.      Clarification on batch fund contributions  from our international based batch mates -  where to and how  sent.  ‘Assessment’ is the same as those based in the Philippines.

                        Php1,000.00                  TOTAL

Clarification on fund raising letter addressed to  Intl based batchmates regarding details of Php1,000.00 required ‘contribution’. Who will write letter? Who is/are signatory/ies of that letter?

2.      Baby Berona will issue acknowledgement receipts to all batch fund contributions.
