MonSay Batch ‘70 Kita-kits in Sun City, CA 08.06.2011

Welcome to sunny Southern California (SoCal) Kita-kits in honor of our guests: Esperanza Del Rosario, Big Apple (NY) joined by Susan Canonizado, Down Under (AUS) with her baby sister (RMCHS alum forgot to confirm batch but I think either 'or '72), Charlie Jayco from the Pearl of the Orient (Phil).

Hello to new found and 2nd (+) time e2e (eye-to-eye) with class/batchmates: Romy with his better-half, Dolly and their 2 kids; Manny Cataluna with his better-half, Divinia; Ernie de Guzman with his better-half, Donna; Vicky and hubby Jess; Edwina and hubby Patrick; Rizza and hubby Tito; Jucos (Divin and Jimmy); me (a-pointed SecTre) with my hubby, Larry. Soloist: Cecille Radovan-Borelli; Socorro (Cocoy) Selga; Sonia Fedelizo; Peter Tolosa. Merlie Bariss-Boylan and the gracious, hospitable hostess/prexy of overseas Monsay Batch 70 Alumni group, Jay Espina.

Just wanted to share and give “kudos” to Edwina and Patrick who were the first ones to arrive not counting Espie. Bonding and lots of Q & As thrown around like who’s or who are your crushes in HS? The well known “”bosohan” peeping under the stairs moments of some not to be named classmates (they know who they are hehehehe. . .) was another naughty acts of HS life that was recounted with the help of spirits from wine, beers and for some all it took was OD’ing from soda, juice or just plain H2O. Brewed coffee was served before we broke camp . . . some to drop off their rider(s), drive back home and the rest of us headed to Harrahs Rincon.

Jay being the last one who came and had interaction with the Philippines’ Monsay batch ’70 alums facilitated our first overseas’ meeting. She was unanimously voted as Prexy and yours truly as the Sec/Tre ( I think just to silence me, since I can not talk and write at the same time hahahahaha, works though)

Purpose of the meeting - to align and coordinate better for the coming February 2012 Batch 70 reunion to be held in Manila.

Items discussed:
• Alum’s membership due – $5.00
• Reunion fee - $50.00 pp
• Ticket sale - each alum will be responsible for a minimum of 1 raffle booklet (10 tickets)
It was suggested/seconded and agreed by majority that contributions should be equal amongst alumni and if additional support will be needed then it must be presented to the body.

Our first fund-raising yielded $86.00. We sold 15 raffle tickets for $2.00 ea. The items raffled which were not enough to be distributed were courtesy of Susan. Thank you :-) Winna and I decided to auction the 3 MonSay black shirts: first 1 went for $16.00 and the other 2 for $20.00 ea. Too bad the Karaoke was not working properly we could have another fund-raising.

The following Monsayans have paid their alumni membership dues and reunion fee:
• Cecille Radovan-Borelli $55.00
• Sonia Fedlizo-Domingo 55.00
• Edwina Ilusorio-Villanueva 55.00
• Espie Del Rosario 55.00
• Manny Cataluna 105.00 Total: $325.00

Action Items:
• Each of us will be responsible in disseminating and the mobilization of Expat Monsayan’70ers here. I will send the excel spreadsheet of class/batchmates known to me with their vitals. Please send updates to me (via FB PM, email, text etc).
• I will only accept cash payments
• I need suggestions as to how/where to put the money collected (e.g. tin can, under the mattress, etc). If bank will be suggested I might have to relinquish the Treasurer role to someone who would be willing to open a bank account for our collections.
• Jay will coordinate the mailing and distribution of raffle ticket booklets

If I missed anything please let me know. Until then, don’t be a stranger and always keep happy thoughts :-)
